To be successful is the desire of almost every human being upon the face of the earth. Success denotes accomplishment, purpose, a rewarding journey in one’s career or personal life. Nonetheless, success often eludes people, or the wrong ‘type’ of success is acquired, one which does not resonate with our true calling. In a society that is constantly bombarding us with preordained, tailor made versions of success; it is easy to fall into the rat race trap. This morning I woke up with a mAgical sense of wonder. It felt as if I was just waking up on this earth for the very first time… As my eyes slowly opened the first thing I noticed it was the absence of that constant inner mental chatter. My brain, my mind were quiet, it was someone else doing the observing. I was not preoccupied with past or future, I was just happy to be alive NOW, to be able to breath, see, feel and be. What a strange and wesome feeling of just being.

I suddenly started to notice the room around me, the little details, the sound of the ventilator, the patterns in the curtain, the way the diary rested on the mantle piece accompanied by pens and letters. And suddenly I thought/felt this is material but is reality, it’s modable, changeable. In a moment I understood the…

ALIVE.

In a moment I understood the meaning of life, that being ALIVE is the greatest gift! I started to look at my hands, to caress them and really notice the shape and size of my hands and to feel in my heart this immense sense of gratitude for ALL the amazing things I could do and create with my hands! I could touch and write, and work and help. I touched my harms in awe of the wonder of this incredible vehicle we have each been given called body. Through it, you can walk and travel, and feel people, and touch and create! And it hit me!

I REALISED, that I was a beautiful and a perfect creation, but that was not all. I also realised, that I was a creator. THE CREATOR and designer of my life and my own destiny – such a profound knowledge! How did I not understand this before? How and why I gave my power away to others? When I, and you! We are powerful beyond measure. There is nothing holding me back from creating the life of my own design, tailor suited only for me. The world is my canvas, I decide what to draw, where to draw it, who comes into my life and the type of life I want and desire. I can be and do anything! I am alive!

I feel amazing. A new start, a profound understanding that I can create the life I want with my thoughts, words and actions. It was my birthday yesterday Wednesday 12 of November, and today I feel born again, like a baby who just arrived on this earth and looks at it with a sense of wonder. I am powerful, I am mAgical. GOD has granted me another day of life and what a blessing and a present it is! Today don’t linger in the past or run away no an unreal future. Stay in the present. Live your life to the fullest. Appreciate you, appreciate life and all the beauty around, appreciate everything and everyone in your life. Be glad to be ALIVE and grasp that mAgical wand and go out there and create the life you want and deserve.

To Be Successful…

“”Success is peace of mind, which is a direct result of self-satisfaction in knowing you did your best to become the best you are capable of becoming.” __ John Wooden

Each person is (or ought to be) an individual with particular abilities, likes and dislikes. It makes perfect sense not to want what everyone else considers “success” to be, but to strive to find YOUR passion. The calling or activity that brings you most happiness, that resonates with your heart, and to turn that passion into a career. Maya Angelou, told us in a simple, yet powerful way her own view of what success is, one that I agree completely with, she said: “Success is liking yourself, liking what you do, and liking how you do it.”

In order to accomplish that much desired success, the first thing on the list of things to do is: find who you really are. It may sound basic or even silly, but you’ll be surprised how many people lead a life that is alien to their true selves which they have been unable to find because of being too “busy” doing or being what everyone else wanted them to be. Therefore the very first thing one must do to achieve success is to find out who you truly are, and what makes you the most happy.  You have to be unique, to have the courage to step where no one else has stepped before, to go for your dreams no matter how outlandish or inconceivable they may seem to others.

This is YOUR life and you deserve to live a successful life. However when we don’t know our true selves, success comes at a very high price. Be a person of quality, principles and honesty. Your should never bargain with your dignity or integrity. No amount of money, prestige or fame can compensate for a life of integrity, for a life well lived.

Where from?

The strength that you need comes from within. The greatest entrepreneurs, writers, thinkers and innovators have gone the rabbit hole of suffering and misfortunes. It is precisely this suffering that has curved the spirit of the successful man and woman. I have always admired the courage, determination and self believe the outstanding individuals  who have made a name for themselves, have had in order to achieve their dreams. If you wanted bad enough you will find a way to see your vision become a reality. Here are a five tips to get you started:

1. Identify your Passion: that which you will do if you had all the money in the world, that activity that resonates with your heart. After you have identified your passion make it your ultimate goal.

2. Devise a strategic plan: Just as you have seen in period films where the general has studied well his strategy against the enemy, and has come up with a detailed plan of action, in the same way, you also need to devise a step by step plan to get you from where you are to where you want to be. Every millionaire, artist and innovator started somewhere; from the beginning, from the very birth of a grand idea.

3. Study People who have done it before you: Now it easier than ever to have access to a wealth of information. Pick up the top people in the field of your en-devour and study their lives. How did they start? what were their key motivators? who influenced their lives? how did the rise to the top?

4. Be Patient but work consistently:  patience is a virtue that you’ll need in order to see your dreams fulfilled. Take a step at a time, each day, work consistently towards your goals, don’t stop keep moving forward in the direction of your dreams.

5. Believe with all your Heart: You’ll need huge doses of self believe and determination, specially when things seem to be going wrong, you must trust in the will of the universe and believe with all your heart in your capacity to reach your dreams no matter how distant they may seem.

Conjure up the power from within, believe in your super human strength and move forward despite all odds. Poza del Poder_1024 (1)

On a Warrior’s Face.

What you see are the scars of all my battles, I wear them with pride because they helped me to become who I am.

You see these arms? the same arms that lifted the ones that were down, those who  had no -one to help them, the very arms that have been a shelter from my own loneliness and fears.

You are perfect? I am not, I have made many errors and cried many tears. I have tanks of letters that I never send, but in each I  gave a tear away.

I am a woman, a warrior, a princess and a lover. Someone who will stand up 10 times if pushed 8, someone who will console those who cry, someone who will always have a positive word even though she is all alone.

I am not afraid, why should I be? I have me. Next time you see me, or a woman like me, realise we have been, are and will be, warriors with  faces  that will not hide their scars away, but wear them proudly because they emerge the tenets of  our souls.

Rebel women! A call to write

A great opportunity for women to express themselves and also contribute to a good cause.

BRIDGET WHELAN writer

I’ve just been sent a press release about a new poetry anthology that intends to showcase established and emerging women writers from across the globe. More than than it wants the anthology – called The Furies – to be a platform for poets to write back on behalf of wronged and radical women. The project is run by For Books’ Sake an  irreverent UK webzine, community and publishing imprint set up in 2010 in response to systemic, institutionalised sexism in the publishing and media industries
For Books’ Sake interprets Furies in the widest possible sense, and the hellcat heroines may be modern, mythic, animal or cyborg, women from film, fiction, history, music, art and activism, or rebels in their own home.
