The Shadow Self

“Your visions will become clear only when you can look into your own heart. Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes.” ― C.G. JungReflection-210x300

The moment you start looking inside yourself life begins to make perfect sense. We are not competing or fighting with other, our biggest battle is with ourselves. Once we learn to look at our own reflection and accept all the parts of ourselves a new relationship with ourselves begins. Your validation as a human being should never depend on outside forces. On the car you drive to make you feel better, on the clothes you were to improve your self-esteem, in the job you have to make you feel important. None of this is important, the most important validation comes from within. From knowing who you are, from making peace with the past and learning from your experiences, thus obtaining more wisdom, acceptance of self and peace within.

imagesWhen your learn to truly love yourself for who you are, a wonderful journey begins, a journey that lasts a whole life time – until your last breath on this earth. The minute you begin to detach from all the material things, as well as outside acceptance and status; that’s the moment you become free. Embrace your shadow self, allow it to teach you the parts of yourself that need improvement or acceptance. Learn to know yourself and to embrace your uniqueness and individuality. Only then , can you really have an honest life. Everything will have more meaning and beauty.

You hold the key to open the gates of your own heart. You alone are the keeper of your soul. You have been blessed with divine liberty to choose your life, to become the creator of your own earth. There is a universe waiting to be explored within yourself, have the courage to walk through those gates and explore the city within. It is a magical journey and I wish you a happy life of this plane.

Finding the Courage.

When you feel you have lost it all, and you are broken and raw with no desire to go on, go on you must.

“What lies behind you and what lies in front of you, pales in comparison to what lies inside you.” __Ralph Waldo Emerson

Finding the courage to deal with difficult and mitigating circumstances may  seem impossible when you find yourself in the eye of the storm. However, there is a resilience within yourself that when you tap into it, it will provide you with the strength and courage you need to move on in life. Believe in the power within, search for your inner strength and take one day at the time. Try to accomplish small tasks that will lead you in the direction of your dreams. Each day as you become loving and patient with yourself, you’ll find yourself getting stronger and moving forward. Take one step at the time, breath, believe, love and forgive.

Getting Rid of the Old – Building The New.

No Happy With Your Life? No Problem, You CAN Start a New & Build Your Dream Life!

Think about it, when you are first born life presents itself like a journey of discovery, like a white board in which you draw or write your experiences which start to mould your character and your perception of life. However, life is life! it doesn’t matter if you’re 12 or 20 or 40 or 60. What matters is that life is still there, the opportunity to make something new, to reinvent yourself and to write a new script is there waiting for you to grab.

What really stops us from having the life of our dreams are two things: 1) We are too stuck in the old mental patterns to think we can change, and 2) We don’t really know ourselves or know what we want therefore we can’t obtain it because we don’t know what it is we really want or have a plan to acquire it. But all this CAN be resolved. All it takes is for you to take some time out and spend it getting rid of the old in order to build the new.

Have a good look at your life and see how much crap you have allowed to get it. When I say crap I mean disappointments, past hurts, wrong notions about yourself, sadness, and other people’s opinions. All of the above constitutes stagnated energy which eats up at the core of your being. What you need to do is decide once and for all that your life is worth it, that you deserve happiness and that you need to get rid of the old so that you can start your grand design for your life.

imagesStart by writing in a piece of paper all the areas you which to change or improve. For example:

1. My body. I wish to lose 10 kilos.

2. My finances. I wish to change jobs and have a bigger salary doing what I love.

3. My relationship. I wish to find the right person, or end a toxic relationship.

You can literally change just about anything in your life but you first need to know what you want to change to then take the necessary steps to get rid of the old patterns. Life is a journey and you get to decide where it will take you. You have within you the power to change your life, do not wait for someone to come and rescue you or show you the way. Take action today, even if it is a small step, that’s the way to begin to take small positive steps towards a new and improved version of yourself. It always makes me happy to share my journey of development with my readers. Right now I am losing weight and creating new healthy habits for a life time. I was at 72 kilos and my desire is to go down to 48 kilos, I know what you’re thinking “that’s too much!” but believe me with my Latin curves this weight suits me fine. Every day I learn something new about myself it is an exciting journey of self discovery.

I hope you enjoyed this post, please leave your comments or questions. And as always I’m happy to write about a particular subject that interests you.

The Power of Cooperation.

We need to strive for the synergy power of cooperation. In order to co-create we need to understand the power of collaboration. We live in a world that is competitive, yes, however every enterprise requires the work of a team. Whether you are making a film, writing a book, constructing a building or dealing with a business transaction, you need a team of people to back up your efforts, and help your dream become a reality. When you are a team player, you are not egotistically thinking of shining, or in being the best. Rather, you should be looking to do a magnificent job, in order to contribute to a masterpiece. Your efforts, hard work and attention to detail, will speak on your behalf. Remember, ‘how you do anything, is how you do everything.’ Our capacity to focus whole-heartedly in a task, and to deliver excellence even in the minutest detail, will guarantee that we shine and become an  important asset to any company, team or project.  If we focus on doing things right, we will always succeed. It is not what we do that matters; but how efficiently we do it. Sir Henry Royce rightly said: “Whatever is rightly done, however humble, is noble.”

There is an immense power in cooperation. On having, as Franklin Covey suggests in his book ‘The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People’, a win-win approach. When you want the other party to win as you win yourself, you create opportunities, you tap into the law of abundance, as you make sure you give as well as receive. Our approach to life determines our success or our failure. Adopting a philosophy of cooperation will ensure that you live an admirable life of abundance, thus leaving behind an honourable  legacy to be proud of.

Next time you catch yourself just taking, or doing things in an egotistical way. Stop and ask yourself: ‘Is this the person I wish to become? Would I like to work with someone like me? Life offers us, an opportunity to craft our destiny on a daily basis, through the decisions and actions that we take. It is useless to expect others to change, the right approach is to be a force of change ourselves, to be part of something bigger, grandeur – to look at ourselves in the mirror and see someone you feel proud of. Someone others would love to work with and follow, because of the positive impact you have made, not only in your work but also in people. A wonderful woman and thinker, writer and poet Maya Angelou who recently passed away, reminds us through her writing that “People will forget what you saidPeople will forget what you did. But people will never forget how you made them feel.”

Life is a journey make it the best one, and remember to respect your fellow passengers and to leave something positive behind for posterity. download

No Limits

There is a fallacy circulating around for thousands of years. This lie has infested society at every level; with detrimental, debilitating, and numbing effects. This lie is nothing else than the word ‘You Cannot’ you can’t because you are too old, you can’t because you are the wrong race, you can’t because you come from the wrong socio/economic background, you can’t because you are a female. All those ridiculous can’ts are nothing else than taboos that hold you back from becoming the best you can be, from reaching your dreams and living an outstanding life, the life that you deserve.

Absolutely no one can tell you what you can and cannot do. However from an early age we are bombarded by the opinions and fears of others telling us what we should look like, what we should wear, what we should do and also what we can and cannot do. What you must understand is that language is powerful and when people appropriate language and make excellent use of it combining it with psychology, the damage can be of great proportion.

In order to brake away from all this mental barriers and rubbish you need to reconnect with your true self, with that part of you that does not need to be defined or validated from the outside. Learn to dismantle all the negative thoughts and opinions that hold you back and begin with all your heart to believe in yourself, to rebuild yourself from the inside out. Knowledge is powerful. The minute you start learning new skills, new mental habits, you will begin to feel empowered. Empowered-training1

Wide Awake

You become wide awake when you realise and accept the truth. Denial is the worse enemy, it leads you to unreal illusions that only amount to disappointment and heart ache.

When you open the eyes of your understanding and accept the reality, then and only then can you let go and move on. As long as you remain attached to an unrealistic hope you robe yourself from the beauty of life and the chance to live fully and truthfully.

On a Warrior’s Face.

What you see are the scars of all my battles, I wear them with pride because they helped me to become who I am.

You see these arms? the same arms that lifted the ones that were down, those who  had no -one to help them, the very arms that have been a shelter from my own loneliness and fears.

You are perfect? I am not, I have made many errors and cried many tears. I have tanks of letters that I never send, but in each I  gave a tear away.

I am a woman, a warrior, a princess and a lover. Someone who will stand up 10 times if pushed 8, someone who will console those who cry, someone who will always have a positive word even though she is all alone.

I am not afraid, why should I be? I have me. Next time you see me, or a woman like me, realise we have been, are and will be, warriors with  faces  that will not hide their scars away, but wear them proudly because they emerge the tenets of  our souls.
